CHOOSING A PACKAGE

Uluru Tours Packages (Ayers Rock Day Trips)

Choosing an Uluru day trip package comes down to a few checks: where you’ll start, what the confirmed tour page shows, and whether it runs on your date. Here’s how to work through them, then book.

WHERE YOU START · 01

I'm starting in Alice Springs. What changes?

OUR ANSWER

Distance is the big one. Long travel distances are one of the reasons a visit to Uluru is hard to organise, and starting in Alice Springs puts them at the centre of your planning.

How long a tour runs depends on the departure location, the attractions included, the travel distances and the itinerary. Departure location also affects the price, along with the itinerary, travel date, seasonal demand, tour length, group size and included activities.

I'm staying at Ayers Rock. Is it simpler?

OUR ANSWER

In some ways. Even so, unfamiliar places, limited time and unclear tour options can still make the day hard to organise.

Tour length still depends on the attractions, travel distances and itinerary of each tour. Price still depends on the itinerary, travel date, seasonal demand, tour length, group size and included activities. Compare the confirmed details rather than assume a short or simple day.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

What should I check on a confirmed tour page?

Itinerary. Where the day goes and in what order.

Duration. How long the day runs. It depends on the departure location, attractions, travel distances and itinerary.

Attractions. Which scenic viewpoints, guided walks, photography stops or cultural interpretation this itinerary includes.

Inclusions. What the operator has confirmed is included, and what isn’t.

Price factors. What shapes this tour’s price: the itinerary, departure location, travel date, season, tour length, group size and activities.

Cancellation conditions. The operator who runs the tour sets these. If you can’t see them, ask us before you book.

PACKAGE QUESTIONS

What do people ask before booking a package?

Who runs the package I book?

An independent operator. We’re the booking agent. The operator provides transport, guiding, accommodation and activities only where your selected package includes them.

What might a package leave out?

It depends on the tour. Things that may not be included are flights to the Northern Territory, accommodation, personal expenses, travel insurance, optional activities, and meals or park entry fees. Check the confirmed tour page, or ask us.

Can you add flights, car hire or insurance?

No. We don’t offer standalone flights, car hire, travel insurance or general accommodation bookings, so please arrange those yourself.

Why doesn't every package show a price yet?

Price and inclusions appear only once the operator has confirmed them. What Affects Uluru Tour Prices and Inclusions explains what changes the price.

A QUESTION WORTH ASKING

Whose country will you be visiting?

Your package visits Anangu country, and commercial tours in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park generally need permits and must follow Parks Australia regulations, including respect for Anangu, so follow your guide, the signage and the park rules on the day.
